Sherri Bergen is a health-IT consultant supporting healthcare providers with their health information systems compliance needs. Her career achievements include her role to help position hospitals and doctors’ offices to attain short and long-term operational goals by assessing the information system infrastructure, educating user to security policies, and keeping organizations current with health care technology changes.
Ms. Bergen holds several computer professional certifications as well as a Certified HIPAA Compliance Officer (CHCO). Ms. Bergen received her Masters in Health Informatics at St. Joseph’s University, and her Bachelors in Computer & Information Technology from Drexel University; and she is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration from Wilmington University. Courses which Ms. Bergen taught include: Computer Based Medical Records, Health Info Management Systems, Health Services Research, Introduction to Health Administration and Research Goals.
Ms. Bergen’s research centers on the improvement of healthcare through the implementation of health information technology (HIT), specifically electronic health records (EHRs). There are two research goals Ms. Bergen are interested in. First, to show empirically the benefits of electronic health records. The second goal is developing and implementing data-driven healthcare systems for the purpose of creating and sustaining reliable continuum of cares that cross socioeconomic and other barriers to healthcare for all people.
