Karen Hogan, Ph.D.

Dr. Hogan has been on St. Joseph’s faculty since 1995 and earned her current rank of Full Professor in 2007. She serves as Chair of the Finance Department and Academic Coordinator for the Executive MBA program.  Before joining the Finance Department at St. Joseph’s, she was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the College of New Jersey. She earned her Ph.D. from Lehigh University.

Dr. Hogan’s areas of expertise are Investments, International Finance, Corporate Finance, and Financial Education. Dr Hogan’s research and teaching have been recognized as excellent in the field. In 2011, Dr. Hogan was awarded the University's prestigious 2011 Tengelmann Award.  The Tengelmann Award is Saint Joseph’s highest achievement award for life-long research and teaching and can only be won once in a career.  In 2010, Dr. Hogan participated in the Oxford University Roundtable which is an academic think tank on public policy at Oxford University. She was given an Arrupe Center for Ethics Research Grant in 2010.  She won a 2002 Saint Joseph’s University excellence in research award and a 2001 Saint Joseph’s excellence in teaching award. She was also awarded “Best Paper” in the area of Corporate Finance at the Eastern Finance Association’s 1998 conference and was a 1993 National Financial Management Association’s Doctoral Fellow.  Dr. Hogan's has also published numerous research articles in academically peer reviewed journals over the years.
