About Saint Joseph's University

Saint Joseph's University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, educates students with the purpose of producing graduates who will use their skills to improve the common good by promoting tolerance, compassion and social justice. Our strong liberal arts foundation promotes an environment of open-minded investigation and debate and attends to developing students beyond their academic accomplishments, while maintaining high academic standards.

The Jesuit tradition of cura personalis—care for the entire person—is reflected in our academic experience and a learning environment that is energetic, compassionate, and spiritual.

We are proud to now offer online master's degrees and graduate certificates.

Founded in Philadelphia by the Society of Jesus in 1851, Saint Joseph's University is home to 4,150 full-time undergraduates and 3,450 graduate, executive, and non-traditional students.
